ANTHONY'S RARE EYE CONDITION

Anthony has been diagnosed with severe keratoconus, a condition in which the clear tissue on the front of the eye (cornea) bulges outward, forming a cone shape. This degenerative condition has progressed beyond what the State of Texas and the Federal government consider legally blind. His eyesight is rapidly deteriorating, and his personal beliefs preclude him from considering a cornea transplant. This combination of factors presents significant challenges for Anthony's vision and quality of life.

Additionally, Anthony also has astigmatism, which further complicates his vision. Astigmatism is a common refractive error affecting the shape of the eye's cornea or lens, causing blurred vision at all distances. When combined with keratoconus, Anthony's vision is profoundly impacted, resembling the experience of looking through a very opaque shower door. Despite facing these challenges, Anthony remains resilient in his pursuit of alternative solutions that align with his beliefs and values.
